Uniquely Different Auction Team

The Unique Fundraisers Team can handle any size event and any special features your organization requires.  Our unique experience in benefit auctions is captured in years, personnel, and national certifications.

Strong Leadership

  • Jerry Scott: As a full-time auctioneer for the past 20 years, Jerry Scott has conducted hundreds of auctions ranging from personal estates to business liquidations.  For the last 10 years he has mastered the specialized area of benefit auctions and holds the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation.  Jerry is one of only five benefit auction specialists in the state of Ohio awarded this designation from the National Auctioneers Association.

Jerry started Scott Benefit Auctions as a natural extension of his lifetime involvement in service and volunteer work to several non-profits.  He combines his dedication to serve with his profession of auctioneering to provide a unique benefit auction experience to all his clients.

  • Thom Collier: Involved in Professional Fundraising since 1990, Thom brings a wealth of experience to the Unique Fundraisers Team. As a key member of the “Thom and Jerry” team, he brings his experiences in professional fundraising, board management, community service, and as a humorist to every fundraising event. His depth of experience provides a rich auction experience making the event more entertaining, enriching, and rewarding.

Thom has served as fundraising chairman for more than 10 organizations and dozens of fundraising events, and has served on the boards of multiple local, state, and national organizations. He has received many awards for his outstanding community service. And, he has performed professionally as a humorist and a stand-up comic.

Auctioneer Specialists

  • Each event has its own special characteristics that require an experienced team of auctioneers.
  • Our team of trained auctioneers is familiar with many techniques to create fun and excitement in a way that engages your donors.

Auction Ring Personnel

  • We can supply well trained ring personnel who listen to the auctioneer, know when attendees are bidding, and silently communicate with the auctioneer to facilitate maximum returns for your event.
  • Ring personnel are much more than bid spotters.
  • Ring personnel are familiar with the auctioneer and effectively work well with the event attendees to create the greatest potential of dollars raised for your event.
  • This is a key role in running a successful benefit auction.

Cashiering and Clerking

  • We can provide our high-tech, computerized cashiering and clerking system and reduce the time needed for settlement at the end of your event.
  • Generally, within one hour of the close of your live auction we can supply your event treasurer with the monies collected and detailed settlement sheets, as well as mailing lists for attendees and detailed information about each participant purchases.
  • This often overlooked service is VERY critical to your auction success – and typically, is not provided by most auctioneers.
